Provisional shoring of a span and refurbishment by external prestressing system

The intervention firstly consisted in enhancing and ensuring span safety by placement of a steel beam shoring up the severely damaged original beam. Then, the damaged beam and other similarly deteriorated beams have been restored by a twofold action of concrete jacketing and external prestressing through cables equipped with load cells for an ongoing stresses monitoring and data collection.
